2008 Blue Lagoon Cruise – 3 nights
- WEDNESDAY RANGIROA TIPUTA –
- Welcome Aboard! The Haumana team will meet you at the Rangiroa’s Airport and and transfer you to your awaiting yacht. After lunch, enjoy a wonderful snorkeling tour in the emerald waters of the Green Lagoon. The occasion to get acquainted with the different species that populate Rangiroa’s underwater world.
- If you do not wish to snorkel, you may then sign up for the visit of the Gauguin Pearl Farm and discover the fascinating world of the Tahitian Pearl, symbol of perfection and pureness. Pre dinner cocktail hour will be the occasion to meet the Haumana team as they introduce themselves and welcome you with beautiful Polynesian melodies. Presentation of the next day’s program and dinner will follow.
- THURSDAY BLUE LAGOON & FAAMA –
- Wake up to to the beauty of the Blue Lagoon, a miniature Rangiroa, comprised of virgin islets encircling a pristine lagoon. Snorkel in these wonderful waters and join in a shark feeding adventure. The Haumana crew will share the recipe of the Tahitian “poisson cru”, a local specialty of raw fish marinated with lime juice and coconut milk! Milk prepared right before your eyes, fresh from the nut!
- During lunch, the Haumana will sail to Faama, also known as the Reef Island. Explore this wild islet where the paradise picture of Rangiroa meets with its tormented landscapes of “feo”, interesting blocks of sharp fossilized corals and rocks sculpted by time and soaring out of the calm lagoon. Snorkel, kayak or enjoy the pleasure of a siesta in this peaceful environment. Learn about the net fishing technique that the locals master with unrivalled skills!
- At the end of the day, to the sounds of ukuleles, delight in a tropical cocktail and canapés as the sun sets over Rangiroa, invading the sky with a palette of thousand colors. The multi-talented Haumana team will teach you the local weaving technique and you will be amazed to see what can be done with just greens! After dinner, the Captain will take you on a voyage to the celestial world and tell you all about the stars in the Southern Hemisphere.
- Be ready for a Robinson Crusoe day on Motu Ai Ai! Snorkel, kayak, fish or explore this little cast-away islet. Follow your crew to the ocean side of the motu where the waves of the Pacific Ocean end their voyage on the reef in an immaculate splash.
- Delight in a cocktail from our floating bar and enjoy the hedonic pleasure of a lunch feet in the water, surrounded by crystal-clear lagoon. This idyllic place will be an invitation to unwind under the soft caress of the sun. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure on this stunning motu. At cocktail hour, as your yacht sails back to Tiputa, the Haumana team will serenade you with melodies from their islands.

- SATURDAY RANGIROA TIPUTA –

After lunch, enjoy a wonderful snorkeling tour in Rangiroa’s natural aquarium, where myriads of tropical fish will dance around you in a colorful ballet. The occasion to get acquainted with the different species that populate Rangiroa’s underwater world.

At the end of the day, stroll along Tiputa Village’s main road and discover the way of life of the locals, the “paumotu”, and the true flavor of this remote atoll. Your guide will point out the varieties of flowers and trees growing beautifully in private gardens. As you get to the far end of the village, you may try to spot the dolphins playing in the pass while some locals fish for their dinner on the edge of the reef.Pre dinner cocktail hour will be the occasion to meet the Haumana team as they introduce themselves and welcome you with beautiful Polynesian melodies. Presentation of the next day’s program and dinner will follow.
- SUNDAY SHELLS MOTU, PINK SAND ISLET & TERUATUPUA –
Visit a local family on their private islet, the Shells Motu, and discover their way of life, away from civilization. This family is one of the only ones still digging Rangiroa’s hostile grounds to find those very precious orange shells used in the islands to make the beautiful shells necklaces. Enjoy coconut water, straight from the nut, one of the purest waters that can be found in the islands. Follow your guide to the ocean side of the motu, for a complete change of scenery, from the calm lagoon to the wild ocean. Walk along a deserted pink and white sand beach to the edge of the reef.

After lunch, head towards the Pink Sand Islet, a long strip of pink sand floating above a crystal-clear lagoon. Participate in a shark feeding adventure or relax on the beach. Enjoy the luxury of a floating bar, surrounded by this paradise scenery. On the way back to the yacht, stop by the Birds’ Islet, a natural bird sanctuary nestled in Rangiroa’s vast lagoon.

- MONDAY TEU & OTEPIPI –

Today, enjoy some time at leisure on Motu Teu. Snorkel, kayak, fish or explore this little cast-away islet. This idyllic place will be an invitation to unwind under the soft caress of the sun. In the afternoon, visit the old traditional village of Otepipi and learn about the history of this ancient site where time seems to have stop. People from Rangiroa gather for pilgrimages once or twice a year to this old sacred place. Your crew will then take you on a reef outing expedition, pointing out the local trees and flowers of the island on the way. During cocktail hour, the multi-talented Haumana team will demonstrate the different ways to tie a pareo, the typical Polynesian fashion attire.
- TUESDAY MOTU ANATIA & MAUAHATEA –

Hop in the tenders and start the day beautifully with a morning on Motu Anatia. Snorkel in the crystal-clear lagoon of the motu; go shells hunting and discover which varieties of shells can be found in the islands and also which one are prized by the locals as delicacies! Learn the different uses of the coconut and coconut tree considered the tree of life in the Pacific islands.

Spend the afternoon at Mauahatea, explore this wild islet where the paradise picture of Rangiroa meets with its tormented landscapes of “feo”, interesting blocks of sharp fossilized corals and rocks sculpted by time and soaring out of the calm lagoon. Take a refreshing dip in one of the natural spa pools of the motu. Snorkel, kayak, fish or enjoy a siesta on the secluded beach, immersed in tranquility and beauty. You may also practice one of the local sports that originated from France and now part of the “islanders” life , “pétanque”. At sunset, enjoy the melodies of the Haumana team as you sail back to Tiputa.

This morning, you will have the oportunity to visit of the Gauguin Pearl Farm, depending on domestic flights or arrangements made for you. Discover the fascinating world of the Tahitian pearls, symbol of perfection and pureness. It will then be time to end your beautiful “paumotu” dream and tender to the airport, unless you have chosen to pursue this sweet dream in one of the island’s hotels.
